Osun Academic Union Lauds Oyetola As He Reinstates Over 200 Dismissed Lecturers

The Council of Academic Staff Unions of Osun State Owned Tertiary Institutions, comprising the two polytechnics and colleges of education has lauded Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s commitment for prioritizing the welfare and well-being of its members.

Addressing newsmen after the union appreciation visit to the Osun State Head of Service, Mr Olowogboyega Oyebade in Abere, on Wednesday, the chairman of the union, Comrade Olusegun Lana said Governor Oyetola has demonstrated high level of sincerity to their union.

Comrade Lana recalled that five years ago over two hundred members of his union were disengaged by the previous administration adding that with the mercy of God those affected have been reinstated in batches over the year by Governor Oyetola.

According to Comrade Lana “The very last batch of them (sack lecturers) are left in the forest of delusion and agony of being out of job, ten of them across the institutions Mr Governor has magnanimously shown mercy to them, he said whatever sin they have committed has been forgiven and told them to go and sin no more.”

He prayed for divine guidance for Governor Oyetola led adminstration and wished him and his entire team success.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Osun Chapter, Comrade Babatunde Adekomi maintained that God has done so much for the union saying those people that lost their jobs during the last administration God has used Governor Oyetola to reinstate them back to work.

The elated NLC Chairman stressed that is why he joined the academic union on the appreciation visit to Mr Governor through the head of service to make him understand that he is pleased with him and to register endless support of NLC to his adminstration.

“Apart from this, he has started the implementation of new minimum wage, already forgotten annual increment has been reinstalled, our promotion has now started again, all our outstanding arrear is what we are expecting the government to pay when the state is financially buoyant” he said.

He urged all workers across the state to continue to be diligent at work and keep supporting the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola
