NNL 2021: Osun United Shop For Another Away Point At Stores

Osun United Football Club will aim to grab another point on the road as they tackle Stationery Stores Football Club of Lagos in the week 3 encounter of the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) on Saturday.

The match, slated for Agege Township Stadium will be a cracker of a game between the two sides who have dropped two points each at home in just the second week to the start of the league.

The ‘Omoluabi Giants’ performed creditable well in their first match by picking a rare point against Go Round in Omoku, Rivers State following a 1-1 draw but were halted at home in the second game as they were held to another one all draw by the visiting Nnewi United at the Osogbo Township Stadium.

The ‘Flaming Flamingoes’ on the other hand were caged at their backyard in Lagos in the week one encounter as they were were forced to a one all draw by their Guests, Giant Brillars of Enugu while they were battered 2-1 by Go Round in the week two fixtures last week in Omoku.

In the previous meeting in 2018 NNL, Osun United whitewashed Stationery Stores by 3 unreplied goals in the first leg while Stores kept United at bay in the return fixture in Lagos.

Osun United’s only goal poacher this season, Dennis Meshach was a former player of Stationery Stores before he pitched Hus tent with the Omoluabi Giants in 2019. Meshach has shown the stuff he is made of, scoring two goals in 2 league matches.

Coach Bright Omokaro of Osun United has assured that his boys have put last week’s result behind and have prepared to pick another point against Stores.

“We know what’s at stake. Dropping points at home in an abridged league format is disastrous and we have learnt our lesson. Our main focus is getting another point in Lagos just like we did in our first match and I know it is not impossible.”

The match which kicks off 4pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021 can be watched live on the NNL official par live streaming platform, mycujooTV.
