Osun United Go Spiritual Ahead Of First Home Game, Visit Club’s President Over Mother’s Death

As Osun United prepare for the first home game in the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) on Saturday, a prayer session, organized by Osun United Supporters’ Club was held at the Osogbo Township Stadium on Thursday, February 18, 2021.

This was meant to commit activities of the club, the management, supporters and fans to the hand of God and seek divine success and protection over all stakeholders of the club throughout the season.

Anchored by a popular Islamic Cleric in Osogbo, Sheik Yusuf Oko Iya Eleko, who was represented by a league of Alfas led by Uztas Nurudeen Abdulrasaq, the prayer appreciated God for His divine succour on the team in the previous years and seek God’s favour throughout this season and beyond.

Stakeholders in the club such as Supporters’ Club Chairman, Alhaji Abimbola Rafiu Risky, Fan’s Club Chairman, Chief Hammed Nureni Leader, Vice President of the Club Mr. Vincent Akinbami, Coach Bright Omokaro among others took turn to pray in both Islamic, Christianity and Tradition ways for God to make the season a glorious, victorious and hitch free one for the Omoluabi Giants.

The prayer also sought God’s guidance and protection over the players, the management, supporters and fans, State Government of Osun and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Sports Council and Football Association, League Management in Nigeria, Referees and Match Officials as well as all journalists, security agencies and spectators that will be coming to watch matches.

Shortly after the prayer, the management, players and technical crew visited the Club’s President and Assistant Coach Ademola Adesina and Adebayo Adesina respectively at the former Super Eagles Midfielder’s palatial residence in Osogbo to commiserate with them on the death of their mother.

The delegation, led by the Club’s Marketing Manager, Seun Asagidigbi and Coach Bright Omokaro prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss of Mrs. Mary Ayoka Adesina and protect everything left behind by the deceased.
