There was crisis in some parts of Ibarapa in January after Sunday Adeyemo, youth leader better known as Sunday Igboho asked Fulani herdsmen in Ibarapa to vacate the area over allegations of killing and kidnapping for ransom of Yoruba indigenes.

The security situation was compromised after some youths took to burning and destroying property of residents, including those of the Fulani.

The state government had deployed 200 Amotekun corps to restore normalcy in the area.

He added that security operatives are already working to bring the culprits to justice.

No one has reported any adverse security issue to me apart from isolated case involving a Fulani man said to have been killed in his house in a remote village around Eruwa in Ibarapa East on Saturday, by yet to be identified assailants. No security challenges observed in Ibarapa Central and North contrary to rumours been peddled,” he said.

“We are fully on the trail of those responsible for the said murder in conjunction with other security agencies and we assure all that the attackers and their motives will soon be uncovered.”
