Osun Govt To Introduce Digital Literacy In Osun Schools

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin has said the Osun state Government have concluded plans to introduce digital literacy in Osun schools.

The Commissioner said the power of ICT cannot be over looked as the world is now a global village and students graduating from school needs to ICT equiped to face the new digital world.

The former lawmarker also stressed on the achievements of the ministry saying that the state has reversed from the 4-5-3-4 to 6-3-3-4 system of Education, returning of uniforms back to their original forms as the single uniform was responsible for all kinds of deviant behavior in the public schools, restoration of single sex Schools back to their original forms, restoring schools back to their original names.

He said these achievements have created a collaboration between the old students and the state Government as the old students are now contributing to the development of their former schools.

He also emphasized on the state Government’s effort to ensure that teachers and Principals go through training and renovation of schools across the state.

Speaking on the resumption of schools, he said the state is trying to strike a balance by not endangering the future of the students and trying not to keep their future on hold.

The Commissioner added that the resumption date for schools still remains 18th January, 2021 with strict covid-19 protocols put in place in all schools across the state.

He also added that Osun is out of the joint lautech ownership as the state was not being favoured in any way during the joint ownership.

While speaking further on “Olubewo”, the Commissioner said it is a restructuring of the inspectorate department of the quality assurance of the Ministry and the Government is trying to reinfigurate the quality assurance department to clean up illegal and mushroom Schools in the state and to also get a proper monitoring of Government owned Schools.
