Tourism Can Rack In More Money For Nigeria Than Oil -Miss Tourism Expresses Optimism



The newly crowned Miss Tourism Africa Beauty and Brain 2020/2021, Queen Fisayo Aderemi, who emerged as the second runner up in the recently concluded Miss Africa Beauty and Brain Beauty Pageant in Lagos has said tourism can rack in more money to the country than crude oil.

The crowned Miss Tourism in an interview said she is optimistic that the country can make huge fortune from the sector.

Narrating how she got the crown, Queen Fisayo Aderemi said she had gone like every other contestant to the camp house organised by the pageant to represent her dear state, Osun state said she didn’t really prepared well, adding that at a time she almost back out of the contest.

She said the crown didn’t come easy to her, she had to really worked hard for it since she had a doubt if she was going to move in to the camp with other contestants, and at the camp she had to compete with other ladies to attain the feat.

The newly crowned Tourism Queen Miss Tourism Africa Beauty and Brain 2020 who had earlier bagged the Title of Miss Tourism West Africa in the year 2017 appreciated God for the opportunity.

The tourism lover and practitioner in the industry said this new feat has only confirmed that God and Nature has a purpose for her in the Tourism Sector and for that she is willing to pursue it to the greatest of height.

She expressed her confidence that tourism can be the new oil for Nigeria stressing that if only the Federal government of Nigerian can look keenly into the sector and provide it with necessary support.

“Nigeria is so blessed with so many Natural resources, tourism not left out, therefore Nigeria needs to practice sustainable tourism.

“We have different tourism sector that has not really been explored by our dear country. The likes of Agritourism, Eco tourism, and many more.

“If we look at other countries that are doing well in tourism we would notice that the country had invested heavily into tourism .

Queen Fisayo opined that if Nigeria can do the same to its tourism sites, it will go a long way than relying on oil to grow its economy.

“With tourism economic growth will come into many sectors, hospitality sectors, Aviation, and even the local communities, it’s a cycle market that every one wins regardless” she said.

She, however, disclosed that she has started her tourism adventures already in the early hours of the year with her recent visit to Landmark beach and hoping something like that will spring up in her state soon.

She promised to embark on many tourism adventures throughout the year as she has started packaging tours already.
