I Didn’t Vote In Support Of Clampdown On Social Media – Seyi Makinde

The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has said he didn’t vote in favor of a clampdown on social media in a recent meeting with Governors of South West held in Lagos.

Governor Makinde, disclosed this on Tuesday while inaugurating the Oyo state Judicial Panel of Inquiry.

According to the governor, government at all levels need to build trust deficit and holistically address the hunger and anger in the land rather than chasing after the shadow.

Governor Makinde, however, explained that about 50 petitions had been received and implored other residents who might have issues of human right violation, police brutality, and extrajudicial killings to seek redress with the just inaugurated panel of inquiry.

He assured that the death of Isiaka Jimoh, Ganiyu Moshood including others killed during the EndSARS protest as well as the police officers murdered, would be thoroughly investigated and perpetrators would be brought to book.
