If INEC Play Its Role As Done In Edo, PDP Will Win Ondo- Wike

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesome Wike has said that if the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC play the same role it did in Edo state gubernatorial election the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP will win Ondo.

He said Nigerians are tired of All Progressives Congress, APC led government at all levels which he noted has caused more economical and insecurity problem to livelihood of the citizens.

Wike, who was the campaign chairman of PDP for Governor Godwin Obaseki in the just concluded Edo governorship election made this known on Friday during Channels TV Sunrise Daily program, said the unbiased role played by INEC made the election of Edo free and fair election.

He lauded Edo electorate for ending godfatherism in the state saying if all states can also emulate this, democracy will be restored in their respective states.

According to Wike “There is so much pressure on INEC to win election for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo” he however urged the state voters to vote for PDP saying the level of hardship in the country must be ended.

He said although many people predicted Edo election will be violent but played out to be the best election in Nigeria. He also commended stakeholders of the state for their contribution and voters for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner which made the exercise to be successful and free of crisis.

“APC tried everything possible to rig the election in their own favor but Edo people said no” he said.

Speaking on the security agencies, he said Edo election was the first he has ever witnessed in Nigeria where Nigeria Police did not compromise, they did their job as expected.
