Chief Olayide Adelami

An aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ondo 2020 Governorship Election, Chief Olayide Adelami has told electoeate of the state that he is on a rescue mission to salvage the state.

Adelami disclosed this at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja on Wednesday after collecting Expression of Interest and Nomination form.

Some concerned Ondo State natives under the aegis of Ondo Rescue Group picked the expression of interest and nomination forms on his behalf from the National Organising Secretary of the party, Barrister Emma Ibediro.

Adelami, a kinsman of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said, “I am coming up for a rescue mission. Ondo State is endowed with a lot of resources after Lagos, I cannot think of any other State with resources like Ondo State but what has happened over the years is that these resources have been undertapped.

“Other leaders that have come on board at one time or the other have tried their best, but what I’m saying is that I want to improve on their best and take Ondo State to a higher level.

Speaking with journalists after Olayide Adelami said “I am prepared for this job. Over the years, I have been a technocrat in the National Assembly and have seen myself as techno-politician.

“Relating with politicians at the National Assembly, imbued me with many tactical political skills while I watched the games and intrigues from the sidelines.

”Looking at Ondo State over the years, I know what we need to do and if Ondo people give me their mandate, I am going to launch out immediately and not wait for weeks or months before I begin to execute my manifestoes.

The Owo born politician promised Ondo electorate if elected as their governor that under his watch, there would be total financial autonomy for the local government.
