Aregbesola’s Ex Commissioner, Akere, Others Distribute Face Masks To Osun Residents

As part of their social responsibilities to compliment efforts of Osun State Government in curtailing the spread of coronavirus, Osun New Era of the Lions Club International distributed face make in large quantity to residents of Osun.

The NGO led by former Osun State Commissioner on Information and Strategy, Sunday Akere took their humanitarian service to the residents, artisans, traders, commuters and motorists, distributed face mask to them, sensitized them on the need for the use of the COVID-19 protective material .

Speaking, the former commissioner who served under Ex Governor of Osun who is now Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, said the NGO group embarked on the distribution of face mask to support the government in fighting against COVID-19 pandemic.

Akere maintained that the NGO see need to extend its humanitarian service to less privileged citizens in the society who can not purchase the face mask.

He further said “the support programme of Osun New Era Lions Club towards the effort of government to curtail spread of COVID-19 is what we are doing is the distribution of face masks to the people of the State of Osun.

“Part of what everybody know is reaching the whole now is the Covid-19 pandemic and what the government says is that everybody should face masks wherever you are outside.

“Some people would tell you that face mask price is N100 to N200 but their some that cannot afford it. What we have is not enough but the token we have to support to fight against COVID-19 and the people are very happy with it” he added
