In an effort to strengthen security in Kwara State to stop influx, the state government said it will provide security agencies in the state with logistic support to enforce COVID-19 border lockdown.
This was made known through the state Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi during his compliance monitoring tours to Kwara-Osun and Kwara-Kogi borders.
Alabi, who is also the Chairman, Kwara Technical Committee on COVID-19 tasked the security agents at the borders to ensure stricter enforcement of the border lockdown.
The Deputy Governor, who was accompanied by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Raji Razak, assured that Kwara State Government would strengthen the security agents with logistics and other support to make the job of preventing unauthorized entry into the state easier.
Briefing the Deputy Governor, security officers manning the borders identified logistics as major hindrances to effective policing of the boarders and called for synergy with security agents in the neighbouring states.
