…………. Secretary, anchor named for social investment programme
The Kwara State Government led administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Monday started data capturing for aged indigent of the state which will enable the elders of the state to receive stipend monthly without stress.
The conditional cash transfer (CCT) is a component of the Kwara State Social Investment Programme known as Owo Arugbo which is targeted at indigent adults of the state, who are 60 years old and above
BlazeNewz gathered that the operation will be supported by Mohamed Brimah, a seasoned technocrat from the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
Brimah will also act in the capacity as anchor/consultant for the KWASSIP on account of his experience and technical know-how of the Federal Government’s version of the programme.
Press Secretary to the Office of the Head of Service, Muritala Atoyebi in a press release signed and made available to newsmen today had announced the appointment of Jacob Ajiboye, a top civil servant from Oke Ero local government, as the secretary of the state’s social investment programme, as provided for under the Kwara State Investment Programme (KWASSIP) Law.
The press release added that “Ajiboye’s appointment and Brimah’s recruitment came few days after the Governor said his administration would soon extend soft loans to transport workers under Owo Isowo, one of the components of the Kwara Social Investment Programme.
“The operations of the KWASSIP will be supported by Mohamed Brimah, a seasoned technocrat from the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. Brimah will act as anchor/consultant for the KWASSIP on account of his experience and technical know-how of the Federal Government’s version of the programme.” Atoyebi said.
According to Atoyebi “The data capturing for potential beneficiaries of the loan begins on Monday focusing on commercial motorcyclists, tricyclists and cab drivers across the state.
“The data capturing exercise will be initially done through telephone while biometric capturing will take place in manners that respect physical distancing and other safety measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19
The CCT will be received by the aged indigent “through digitized payments called mobile wallets” Atoyebi stressed.
