Monarch Takes Palliatives To Doorsteps Of His Subjects

A traditional ruler in Osun state, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, Telu I, the Oluwo of Iwoland today was spotted sharing palliatives to residents of his kingdom as part of measures to cushion the effects of lockdown order of the state.

Recall, the state government led adminstration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola last week announced total lockdown of the state which he said will last for fourteen days.

The government claimed the lockdown was to contain coronavirus forcing residents of the state to stay at home without doing their day to day business transactions.

But the Yoruba monarch in his popular philanthropist way took food items to doorstep of his subjects within the nooks and crannies of the ancient town.

Oluwo, who is of the belief that a leader must not rest and enjoy freebies while his followers are languishing in chronicle poverty and hunger.

On numerous occasions the traditional ruler had been seen paying uninformed visit to the aged residents in their live alone buildings.
