The Osun State Government led adminstration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola has denied rumor going around that it has lifted ban on the current lockdown order in order for Christian faithfuls to celebrate 2020 Easter.
This was made known through the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji on Friday in a statement made available to BlazeNewz.
Oyebamiji in said “The State Government of Osun hereby announces that it has neither relaxed the State-wide lockdown nor granted exemptions for any form of congregation, whether for Easter, Juma’at prayers or gatherings of any kind.
“The State-wide lockdown is a two-week order at the first instance, after which the government will review the battle against the pandemic.
The statement also urged that “All heads of religious organisations, social associations, citizens and residents are therefore implored to continue to cooperate with the government in this fight by obeying all the necessary regulations and emergency orders.
“The State Government wishes all our citizens Happy Easter and a safe weekend” the statement said.
