A Human Right group, Better Nigeria for All, (BNA) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to withdraw all military forces from nooks and crannies of the country to their primary duty.
The group also urged Nigerians to show respect to security operatives and maintain law and order in their daily activities.
In a press release jointly signed by its Osun State Coordinator, Comrade Adenuja Kolapo and Secretary, Comrade Alamu Adewale, made available to Blaze Newz on Saturday, lauded the president for giving listening hear to Nigerians call on Military withdrawal from the society.
The group said, police force, civil defence corps and other security operatives are responsible for internal security of the nation, urged them to live up to this task.
NBA also appealed to the government at all levels to equip security operatives with modern technologies used for fighting crimes.
“You should all step up in your activities for Nigerians to return their trust in your services, the group said.
Recall, on Friday the president explained his plan to withdrawal the military which he said “The withdrawal is to allow the military focus on its primary duty of defending the nation against external aggression. It is the duty of the police to handle internal security since Nigeria is not at war.
“The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps will support the police to provide internal security. When it is time to withdraw, nothing will be rushed,’’ he added.
He also assured the citizens “You don’t need to worry. We will not expose our people and their communities to harm or danger.”
