Congratulates him on his birthday
Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the State of Osun, has described Comrade Amitolu Shittu, an activist with a difference, saying he is committed to truth, the people and good governance.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, congratulating Shittu on his 55th birthday, Oyetola described the activist as one man that has consistently used his position as the National President of the Committee for Democracy and Rights of the People to deepen democracy, enthrone development, good governance and equal opportunity for all.
The governor further said: “From partaking in ousting military junta to fighting to realise the sanctity of June 12, from struggling to enthrone democracy to striving to sustain it in the last 20 unbroken years, Comrade Amitolu Shittu has left no one in doubt that he is a genuine democrat, rights activist and an apostle of good governance.
“While some activists see their position as an opportunity to needlessly confront governments, Comrade Shittu collaborates with government to serve the people and entrench development without compromising his calling.
“As you clock 55, I pray that Allah will continue to grant you the will and ability to continue with the good works you have been doing for humanity.
“I join the good people of the State of Osun to wish you good health, long life and many more years of service to the State and humanity,” Oyetola added.
