Members of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) in Delta State have expressed their confidence of taking over the state from decades control of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by 2023.
APC in the last gubernatorial election lost to the sitting government, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa of PDP in 2019 but insisted it will stop the party’s many years of reign in 2023.
The party official, Mr. Ibuze Akpe, in Oshimili South Local Government Area, Asaba, who spoke to our reporter said APC is putting all necessary measurements in place in order to bring an end to PDP administration in the state.
He said “this year’s elections are clear sign that Delta people are willing to join the progressives states in Nigeria.
“We can not continue in this backward style of PDP and expect good governance while other states are developing rapidly and improving the standard living of their citizens progressively”
He however, appealed to his party members not to relent in propagating the goodwill of APC to people in their various places of work and residents.
Mr. Ndubi Okafor also pointed to the success of APC recorded in Bayelsa that ended the many years of PDP to the trust of citizens reposed on the party which he said will also happen in Delta.
“It is time for PDP to hand over to APC, PDP has done all its best but Delta’s development is still crawling ” he said.
“We can not continue to fold our hands and watch the state been destroyed by unpatriotic citizens who claimed to be representing good people of Delta in various level”.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for showing leadership by example and also praised the APC national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the National Executive Council (NEC) for starring the affairs of the party which have recorded many success.
