Interior Minister, Aregbesola Bags 9 Awards

The Minister of Interior‪,Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has been given nine different awards by Nigeria and Africa Development Indicators Monitoring (NADIM) Foundation.

Aregbesola was presented the awards on Tuesday in his office, the country’s capital, Abuja by the founder of NADIM, Professor Taofeek Ibrahim

While expressing his gratitude to the foundation he said “‪I give all the Glory to Almighty Allah for the recognition of my service to the people in Osun”.

He explained that the awards were presented to him in recognition of his work done as a governor in Osun State.

Speaking on ‪why was decorated with the awards he said “NADIM in its book, Development Performance Ranking of Nigerian States and Monitoring of Africa, written by Prof. Ibrahim, ranked Osun as the Overall Best State in Development in Nigeria for the period under review (2009-2013).

‘The assessment was based on the analysis of NDHS 2013.‬

“The organization analysed the Nigerian Demographic and Health Survey 2013 for over three years before it came out with its findings in late 2018. NDHS is conducted every five years by the National Population Commission,( NPC) .

The awards presented to the minister are below:

1. Overall Best State Development Award in Nigeria

2. 1st/Best State in Births that have a Reported Birth Weight p157, NDHS 2013

3. 1st/Best State in Birth Average of Larger in Weight p157, NDHS 2013

4. 2nd Best State in Under-5 Children with Birth Certificate pp20, 21, NDHS 2013

5. 2nd Best State in Literate Men 15-49 year, p38, NDHS 2013: Osun State

6. 2nd Best State in Birth Delivered in Health Facilities pp135, 136, NDHS 2013

7. 2nd Best State in Births Delivered by a Skilled Provider pp139, 140, NDHS 2013

‪8. 3rd Best State in Population with Improved Drinking Water p369, NDHS 2013‬

‪9. 3rd Best State In Women Employed, p375, NDHS 2013.‬
