An 18 year-old orphan,Afeez Olasupon has been docked by a chief magistrate court sitting in Ikire,Irewole Local Government Area in Osun State on Wednesday for allegedly beating one Imam known as Qoyum Oladejo mercilessly.
The suspect ,native of Ikire who is a bricklayer is standing a trial before the court with two count charges, on 17th day of March,Olasupon and one other who is not yet arrested by the police breached public peace which is punishable under the law,he was also said on the same date to have assulted Imam Qoyum Oladejo by hitting him with big stick on his head which resulted to an injury.
The accused person however appealed to the court of not being guity to the charges,
Defence counsel,Oni Samuel prayed the court to grant the accused person a bail on a liberal term, promised he will not jump the bail.
The Prosecutor,Inspector Elaija Veronica did not opposed to the bail of the accused person.
Presiding Magistrate,A.A Ayeni granted the suspect a bail with the sum of 100 thousand Naira with one surety gainfully employed who lives with the jurisdiction of the court.
He adjourned the case to 23rd day of April for hearing.
